(MAVIM Ghar)

MAVIM proposes to set up training-cum –production centers at the district level across the state. These centers or MAVIM Ghar will work as residential training centers for SHG members and also act as sales outlet for the items produced by them. MAVIM Ghar thus will be an important step to provide backward and forward linkages for the SHGs.

The main target groups for this project are the economically weak, poor and needy rural tribal and women laborers 

Salient feature of MAVIM Ghar;

·        At  the district level the women will be provided, a centre which will house under one roof the following activities. training centre, a hostel production centre, marketing facilities for women’s products, medical services and guidance centre, a sales outlet, a crèche, a canteen, the MAVIM  district office, a meeting hall for SHG women etc.

·        Skill training programs will be organised here for needy women, for widows and deserted women, women below the poverty line and for other needy women from SHGs.

Services to be provided under MAVIM Ghar.

• Training Centre: Women will be given skill training in various areas like readymade garment making, computer operation, canteen management, handicrafts, soft toys making, etc.
• Hostel: Women can avail of the residential facilities and up to 25 children who may accompany their mothers during training programme. This hostel will be useful for residential training programe.
• Canteen: Canteen will be run and managed by women from SHGs.
• Sales counter for food item:  The counter will be run and managed by women from SHGs.
• Sales outlets: This will be opened with a view to providing an outlet for the items produced by the women. Grocery, spices etc. will be also sold here on a cooperative basis.
• MAVIM Office: The district office of the MAVIM  will be situated in MAVIM Ghar.
• CMRC office and women’s Bank: the office of CMRC will be provided space in MAVIM Ghar, similarly, the women’s bank will also be given space here.
