Partnership with NGOs

The SHG concept is taking root in the State and the process of women's empowerment is growing from strength to strength. It is necessary for voluntary organizations working in this field and for the Government to recognize one another's strengths and come together to accelerate this process. Efficient networking between the two is the need of the hour. It is indeed sad that despite the progressive image of Maharashtra, it ranks very low on the gender development index. Hence it is imperative that a consensus emerges about the direction that ought to be taken and that all stakeholders work together to achieve the common goals of women's development.  

MAVIM is thus in the process of coordinating a forum of voluntary organizatons in the state. Through the state level networks like the Mahila Rajsatta Andolan and Chalna, which are active for the past few years.  MAVIM proposes build a coordination committee networking with NGOs across the state as well as other networking agencies.
