Donors :
1 : International Fund For Agricultural Development (IFAD).
IFAD The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations, was established as an international financial institution in 1977 as one of the major outcomes of the 1974 World Food Conference. The Conference was organized in response to the food crises of the early 1970s that primarily affected the Sahelian countries of Africa. The conference resolved that "an International Fund for Agricultural Development should be established immediately to finance agricultural development projects primarily for food production in the developing countries.
"IFAD's mission is to enable poor rural people to overcome poverty."
IFAD is dedicated to eradicating rural poverty in developing countries. Seventy-five per cent of the world's poorest people - 1.05 billion women, children and men - live in rural areas and depend on agriculture and related activities for their livelihoods.
Working with rural poor people, governments, donors, non-governmental organizations and many other partners, IFAD focuses on country-specific solutions, which can involve increasing rural poor peoples' access to financial services, markets, technology, land and other natural resources
International Fund For Agricultural Development “ (IFAD) is a renowned International based foreign funded agency.IFAD emphasizes the importance of strengthening people’s capabilities to establish and manage their own institutions. IFAD strategy in India centres on improving poor rural people’s access to economic and social resources.
IFAD funds projects for :-
- Rural development
- Tribal development
- Women’s empowerment
- Natural resource management and rural finance
- IFAD has funded MAVIM twice for Women Empowerment Programme. In the year 1994 to 2002, MAVIM had implemented IFAD assisted " Maharashtra Rural Credit Programme". The programme has been proved successful in the terms of providing an access to credit, information, knowledge to poor rural women. It is ended as a star project of IFAD. MAVIM is very thankful to IFAD for partnering with MAVIM and enabled MAVIM to build its image and credibility in SHG sector. As per the policy of IFAD, it do not repeat the financial assistance to any state. However MAVIM could successfully pull the support of IFAD to strengthen the entire SHG moment in the state. IFAD sanctioned 'Tejaswini Maharashtra Rural Women Empowerment Programme' to Government of Maharashtra in July, 2007, which is implemented in 33 rural districts of Maharashtra.
2 : UNFPA
UNFPA - The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) began operations in 1969 as the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (the name was changed in 1987) under the administration of the United Nations Development Fund.[1] In 1971 it was placed under the authority of the United Nations General Assembly.[2][3][4]
UNFPA supports programs in 140 countries, territories and areas spread across four geographic regions: Arab States and Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa. Around three quarters of the staff work in the field.
Some of the UNFPA's work involves providing supplies and services involving reproductive health. They also encourage participation by young people and women to help rebuild their societies who are affected by poor reproductive health, which expands out into areas such as prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS.
Role :
The UNFPA works in partnership with other United Nations agencies, governments and communities to attain the Millennium Development Goals.
The agency’s main goals are:
1. Universal access to reproductive health services by 2015
2. Universal primary education and closing the gender gap in education by 2015
3. Reducing maternal mortality by 75 per cent by 2015
4. Reducing infant mortality
5. Increasing life expectancy
6. Reducing HIV infection
MAVIM and UNFPA has initiated "Reproductive Health Services" programme, which is implementing in all districts of Maharashtra. Supported by United Nations Fund For Population Activities (UNFPA), MAVIM intends to organize training of the Sahayoginies (field workers) for improving their knowledge, attitude and health seeking behavior concerning their reproductive health so that they could help the members of SHGs in these aspects. If these women are addressed and their knowledge, attitude and health seeking behavior is increased they could be educating the other women in the community. It is three years programme.

Our Partners :
Partnership with NGOs:
MAVIM is a pioneering organization to spread SHG movement to a wider scale in the state. Though MAVIM has reached upto 13000 villages of Maharashtra, yet the 3/4th of rural Maharashtra is needed to be covered under devlopmental stream. MAVIM believes that the joint association with NGOs will be a great way forward in the massive scale of operation. MAVIM is put the thrust on developing the partnership with NGOs than "give and take realatioship". It is necessary for voluntary organizations and for Government to recognize one other's strengths and come together to accelerate this process.
RESOURCE ORGANISATIONS (RNGO) :
Tejaswini program is providing the room to associate with Resource NGOs which can help MAVIM as a trainer, facilitator in the area of institution building and micro finance. Presently MAVIM has selected 3 RNGOs i.e DHAN Foundation, Chaitanya, National Institute for Women's, Child and Youth Development (NIWCYD) all over the state who will demonstrate in the process of CMRC building and help MAVIM to build the capacities of their staff in specialised way.
LIVELIHOOD RESOURCE AGENCIES (LRAs)
MAVIM works towards promoting livelihoods initiatives through three major inter-related interventions: (a) building institutions of the poor; (b) linking these institutions to financial and non-financial services; and (c) providing livelihood and support services to leverage the potential of these institution and services. Though, the project covers all 33 rural districts of Maharashtra, 12 districts have been identified for concentrated efforts with replication of learning in remaining 21 districts.
Livelihood Resource Agencies are appointed to identify and tap the livelihoods potential and design, implement and monitor livelihood initiatives in the identified districts that enhance women’s social-economic empowerment and support environment conservation. They will provide strategic guidance and monitoring support to Business Development Services (BDS) centres, Producers’ Groups and CMRCs in promoting livelihoods. It is expected that the BDS centres will work directly under the supervision of respective LRAs.
AFARM- Pune (in Western Maharshatra and Konkan), Rashtra Vikas-Jalgaon (in North Maharashtra and Marathwada) and Dilasa-Aurangabad (in Vidarbha) are supporting the Tejaswini programme since December 2011.
SUCH PARTNERSHIP IS ENABLING TO LEARN FROM EACH OTHERS EXPERIENCE AND ALSO TO EQUIPE EACH OTHER TO PRODUCE THE BEST.
